As evening comes, Prufrock becomes like the patient, apathetic and motionless as he floats throughout the poem in his dream, “The muttering retreats/of restless nights in the one night cheap hotels.”(L. 5-6) His dream being the only meager escape from his sleepless nights in dirt laden cheap hotels.
