Phinny In the book “A Separate Piece” the character Phinny grows a lot both mentally and physically. These changes only occur in the later part of the book because the author has yet to show use how Phinny acts. I was very surprised that he was able to keep the same tip of view on life even though a few of his ideas changed his major out look on life staid the same. Even though he could not play sports him self I think that he still was happiest when he was helping Gene train which shows how he both changed and staid the same at the same time
