In the book “A Separate Piece” the character Phinny grows a lot both mentally and physically. These changes only occur in the later part of the book because the author has yet to show use how Phinny acts. before and after the accident. I was very surprised that he was able to keep the same tip of view on life even though a few of his ideas changed his major out look on life staid the same. Even though he could not play sports him self I think that he still was happiest when he was helping Gene train which shows how he both changed and staid the same at the same time
