It taught us how to correctly test the accuracy of a synthesis reaction; specifically, the acetylation of ferrocene. Our results show us the accurately synthesized and separated out the ferrocene and acetylferrocene from the reaction. The separation of the diacetylferrocene was not as successful as the extraction of the other two, but an explanation for this seems superficially valid.
