translators more than the teacher. The language just seemed more interesting to me than Spanish, Italian, or any other language I seemed to struggle with. I know a second language is usefully but ASL seems like more than a second language. Maybe that is because I would look at the deaf world as disabled, not realizing that its is a culture. Now it seems like learning ASL would be an advantage to broaden my prospective.
