Over the recent years, entering a hospital has become a health gamble. Hospital budget cuts lead to less staff. Fewer and fewer nurses are trying to tend to more and more patients. This creates a dangerous environment for the patients and poor work conditions for the nurses. It's a vicious cycle because nobody wants to enter a profession where you are overworked. Too many hours of forced overtime quickly lowers moral and causes burnouts. So,

Since they tend to work so much, they don't have the necessary time to go back to school and learn another trade. When I asked them what they didn't like about it, they didn't know where to begin. There are many places that will give you a lot of information. But, statistics only locate the problem. I believe, in order to properly identify and correct the problem, we need to listen to the nurses.
