People of authority are frequently confronted with problems in which a choice between family and government must be made. In the play Antigone by Sophocles, Creon is in such a position. fault and he accepted punishment. As the chorus expresses intensely: “Fortunate is the man who has never tasted God’s vengeance” (Pg. 214). Creon was not fortunate in this regard. Even with all the errors Creon made he should be exalted for recognizing his mistakes in the end. That shows great humility on his part, especially for a person of authority. It is rare to see a president, king, government official, etc… admit they were wrong.
