Aria was a somewhat odd essay. Rodriguez illuminated the idea of how bilingual kids can lose their cultural heritage and language by going to school in American society, but he was glad that he learned English. I believe his purpose in the end is that schools need to teach bilingual kids in their language so that they don’t lose it, but at the same time teach the valuable English language.
