The Avro Arrow was one of the greatest things that happened in Canadian history, but it was not allowed to accomplish its mission. The Arrow’s role was to replace the CF-100 Canucks as a supersonic which would intercept in any weather. The reason that the Avro Arrow did not continue its development was that it was too costly, there were no foreign investments, and was poorly designed.

Last of all, the plane was poorly designed. The reason for a fighter/interceptor had served no use in the Canadian armed forces. Their fly-by-wire system, internal weapons carriage, and the Iroquois engine were highly advanced at that time, but it served no purpose for them. SO the government canceled the program on February 20th, 1959.
