His strength, help from above, and good fortune show he is an epic hero. Beowulf’s battle for good over Grendel, awesome strength, and help from supernatural sources provide evidence that he is, in fact, and epic hero. While not as well known as others, such as Hercules and Odysseus, he is one nonetheless.
