we have at our disposal. Anyone can read a textbook and find out that so many people died at this battle, or this country toppled this country on this date. It is all relevant to history, but without these first hand accounts it is impossible to know what was really going on in this war. Without these first hand accounts the war is merely ink on paper, not blood, sweat, and tears on the ground.
