This is a very interesting quote and goes much deeper than the obvious. In the 1930’s when this book was written, God was a major part of everybody’s everyday life. Every thing that they did revolved around their God. Yet in Brave New World God was not an issue, in fact no one even knew what a god was. Instead there was Ford. The

would take a soma holiday away from the real world. In Brave New World there was no need for God, there was no room for God. For with God came many foreign concepts to Brave New World that would destroy it; in fact almost every thing about God is the opposite of Brave New World. God would be fatal to Brave New World and that is why he must be locked up in the safe.
