During the Second World War, the world looked at Adolph Hitler as a monster because he murdered Jews by means of gas. However, in the United States of America as recent as the 1990’s we have used the same method to punish capitol offenders. What makes the use of the death penalty by proper authorities any better than the murders committed by those being sentenced? This is the argument used by those who are against

facts, know that capital punishment really isn’t an effective deterrent and has been used inappropriately throughout history. However, at this time I can not chose a position. Maybe someday when I am an officer and I have lived more, seen more, I will be able to choose a side. Until then, I will continue to evaluate the facts, and attempt to put myself on either the pro or con-capital punishment side of the argument.
