In conclusion the two revolutions possessed many of the same major causes such as taxes and representation. The short term causes are very different between the two. The long term causes are very similar. Mainly for an event like a revolution to take place, there must be similar trigger events that happen, which will make people revolt. Overall the French and American Revolution were very similar in their causes for revolt.
