The topic for my research is the production and distribution of cocaine in South America. South America and especially in the areas of Bolivia, Peru, and Colombia are dominated by cartels that rule the drug trade, and are responsible for over 80% of the production and distribution of cocaine in the world. Until these governments are able to enhance their law enforcement agencies, governments become more stable, and their judicial capabilities improve the production will occur. The coca has been an important cultivated crop in the Andean region for over 4,00 years and will continue to be there, it is practically impossible to stop the production of the cocaine and distribution especially if the demand is there.
