Politics and crime as well as media and crime, have direct effects on how crime is dealt with and how much of it is really reported to the public. As long as we keep targeting the wrong issues we will continue in the crime and prison cycle. It is not to say that one day one “gifted” politician will do the right thing and actually work towards benefiting society instead of himself. Who am I kidding?
