A less observant driver may consider a “busy intersection” a traffic light with a high volume of cars racing back and forth. The more objective driver may believe a busy intersection is not necessarily congested with cars; just lots of surrounding events taking place at once. Next time you approach a busy intersection and stop at the red light, ask yourself this question. Would I consider this a “congested intersection” or a “busy intersection?” As you wait for the light to change, look at the surroundings and notice all the things that are happening. At this point, most drivers tend to observe not only the anxious drivers waiting to pass through the intersection, but also the surrounds of the particular street.
