If you are shopping for a 1 carat after they hit it price goes way up because resale is higher on them and they can be seen more as an investment. Jewelers put diamonds on a 100 point system with 1 carat being 100 points. A 75 pointer is a .75 carat diamond. If you like the size of a 1 carat, look at a 99 pointer and save yourself some money.
