From the early settlement of Europeans in America to modern times the country has progressed prodigiously but it is still far from a land where all people are truly equal. Despite the hardships gays are taking steps to a brighter future whether it be through organizations, lobbying, voting or just being who they are so that those around them would one day realize that gays are no different.
