Also the patient may feel that he may be a burden on his family and opt for euthanasia when he is not really comfortable with the idea to ‘lessen his families suffering’. It is obviously a very difficult subject with no real right or wrong answer. I think each case should be looked at individually by independent doctors and perhaps psychiatrists to help determine the outcome in each individual case.
