In the 1800s and especially the 1900s many new forms of entertainment and media became more prevalent in America. It began with newspapers then photography and moved into radio, movie (films) and finally television. In the beginning American entrepreneurs had control of all of these forms, but they needed a large audience in order to make their businesses a success. We now have multicultural channels aimed at different ethnicities, and actors and actresses of all backgrounds now able to empower themselves in the messages media portrays. Many messages now are portrayed through television which all too often (or maybe not often enough) shows what is wrong with America today.
