Located in the Descanso Ranger District of the Cleveland National Forest, the Laguna Mountain Recreation area provides visitors over 70 miles of hiking trails through a forest of contrasts. Once atop the peak, a spectacular panoramic view of the ecotones from grasslands, through forest to the desert ecosystem is clearly visible. Additional features of note atop Monument Peak include the antenna array, the laser testing area and the monument marker, all attesting to the geographic significance of the peak and it’s position.
