Hamlet’s life. Hamlet does not know
why he has not murdered the king thus far, but perhaps it is because he has taken into account
Horatio’s calm sense of nature, and how reason overrides his passion in situations. Horatio stands
by him the entire play, even when Hamlet is meeting his destiny, and when he dies, Horatio is by
his side, a beginning influence on Hamlet’s inner conflict, and an ending influence.
