The Varying Moods of Hamlet
William Shakespeare's tragic hero, Hamlet, and his sanity can arguably be
discussed upon many facets and ideas. Many portions of the play support his loss of
control in his actions, while other parts uphold his ability of dramatic art. The issue can
be discussed both ways, and altogether provide significant support to either theory.

to pick up the pieces of his shattered idealism, he consciously embarks on a quest to seek
the hidden truth. Faced with the fact that he has to avenge the murder of his father,
Hamlet loses sight of his goal at times, concerning himself with other problems, which
eventually stretch Hamlet’s life back and forth between sanity to insanity.
