Hitler’s power began to grow in 1933 when he was made chancellor of Germany, by August 1934 he was the dictator of Germany. He believed that the new government (appointed after World War One) were useless and he made it very clear to the public that he hated them. He spent many years in prison speaking against them. However, many people supported Hitler for many reasons.

Hitler’s promises were attractive to the poor and starving people. They needed jobs and money for their families. Unemployment was very high. Hitler’s promises were very assuring and seemed like the only way out.
People loved hearing Hitler speak. They loved hearing his thoughts, ideas and plans for the country. He was a brilliant and charismatic speaker and people listened to him.
