It was her responsibility to stand up for what she believed in, and just because her husband was a male didn’t make him superior to her. "The Yellow Wallpaper," while being highly autobiographical for Charlotte Perkins Gilman, was also a stepping-stone in helping to understand depression and liberating women everywhere through its amazing literary elements.
