Mary Tyrone is one of the most troubled characters in all of literature with many conflicts between her, her family and many different aspects of herself. Her heart has to deal with not only the morphine she injects into herself, but the heartbreak of knowing that she could have had such a better life had she made a few different decisions; but she didn’t and never blames herself for them.
