…showed last 75 words of 581 total…look more towards their underlying nondominant respectable qualities. In my opinion, Machiavelli’s advice is not for the common man, but only for a prince. It is to open the eyes of a future king to the possible perils of leadership. A leader must be aware of the evil nature of man and assume the worst from all situations. When the king makes this assumption, he will prepare himself for all circumstances, good or bad.
