“Mirror”
The “Mirror” is a poem that discusses the quality of the mirror and difficulty of seeing deeper into one’s self. The speaker in the poem is the mirror, which describes itself in human-way form throughout the poem. The form of the poem is like a riddle. The mirror has a mind of its own, it tells us what it sees day by day.
The mirror starts out saying, “I am silver and exact.

because it shows the process of life and the reflection of aging physically or mentally. “In me she has drowned a young girl, and in me an old woman rises toward her day after day, like a terrible fish.” (17-18) The woman is constantly searching for the young girl that she used to be and is hoping to find in the mirror. All things in nature must age on their search for their true selves.
