In most cases of therapy the therapist helps the victim to over come the nightmare by writing or imagining their own ending to the dream, or to basically rewriting their dream to where it would not affect them mentally or emotionally. If this does not seem to help, there are other treatments, but for some nightmare victims the nightmares never stop.
