We were at Wild Turkey Stadium,
it was Senior Night.
The Eagles were ready to play,
and fight with all their might.
The night was chilly,
there was tension in the air.
The Saints were rather nervous,
as they stepped into our lair.
The crowd joins the team on the field,
as Leigh yells “Victory Line!”
Everyone is anxious,
it is almost game time.
There wasn’t any doubt,
in the minds of the team.

holding their heads up high.
“Goodbye Wild Turkey Stadium,”
they all said with a sigh.
***Senior Night is a night in which the Senior Varisty Football Players and Cheerleaders are honored. It is usually held at the last home football game of the season. The names in the poem are the senior players and cheerleaders. The game is between the Eagles of Sumter Academy and the Saints of Patrician Academy (both private schools in Alabama).
