A fight broke out and one of the police put a bullet through Sitting Bulls head. He was buried at Ft Yates in North Dakota and in 1953 his remains were moved to Mobridge, South Dakota where there is a monument to mark his grave. He is remembered as a leader, warrior and loving father.
