They are so tantamount, that describing either one without naming it; the reader would easily take one for another. Montresor?s mind is reflected by the ambiance and the architecture of the palazzo. The complexity of the catacombs rivals the structure of his brain. Therefore, it is evident, that the setting is a mirror image of Montresor.
