The new United States had finally gained their freedom from England. With being a new country they needed to form a new system of government. The Articles of Confederation was adopted then between 1781 to 1789. During the stretch of 1781-1789 many affairs made or broke the success of the newly adopted Articles of Confederation. They were a failure for the most part at the time, but a stepping stone to the Constitution. Therefore, the Articles of Confederation, in my mind, were best described as a “successive failure.”
