lives to tell the tale of how she was stoned. She writes this with intent for the readers to be curious and astonished that this happened to a normal housewife. Jackson uses so much foreshadowing in this story the reader should be able to pick up on the plot pretty quick. This Story’s theme is “tradition” and how it can’t be broken, but it has already been broken by all the forgotten rules.
