surprise to Desiree and Armando as they both discovered at one point of the story that they were both of Negro blood and the irony in, “The Cask of Amontillado” was the most ironic story of all. From the beginning of the story to the ending of the story, Montresors kept the reader in suspense until the end, when he finally surprises his ironic behavior to the reader and completes his revenge without turning back.
