Britain began to become an empire as early as the seventeenth century, and it lasted until the mid nineteenth century. The Empire survived many obstacles and rulers. when one would often hear “the sun never sets on the British Empire,” to having very few remaining colonies. It started colonizing and becoming a power, the same way that it was eventually destroyed. The nationalistic pride shared by British people and military strength of Britain built up the empire, and the same nationalistic pride from many of their commonwealth’s and the other European and Asian superpowers eventually caused the empire to inevitably fall.
