If you were asked to explain the romantic period, how would you describe it? Beautiful? Lovely? Well to be honest, the romantic period is far from beautiful. It was often times very dark and mysterious. Edgar Allen Poe, Nathaniel Hawthorne, and Washington Irving are just a few of the gothic (and often times strange) individuals that wrote during the romantic period. But first, what makes a good story that would fit in the romantic period?

details every move, it’s very scary. The talent he puts forth in this story is strange, but excellent.
In all of the stories, the idea is detail. I applaud these three authors for their talent. Every author leaves you on a cliffhanger and leaves you breath-taken. Edgar Allen Poe, Washington Irving, and Nathaniel Hawthorne are mysterious, which makes these stories wonderful and amazing. I am still contemplating why they call it the romantic period.
