In The Sun Also Rises by Ernest Hemingway every character seems to have a function in the novel. Even minor character such as Harris have a role in the novel. Harris¡¦s obsession for fishing resembles Jake¡¦s obsession for Brett, but Harris¡¦s obsession is simple to accomplish. Hemingway puts Harris in the novel to help the reader understand more about a healthy obsession and Jake¡¦s obsession for Brett.
