current trends continue, the results can be disastrous. However, if Americans are brought to realize that the two-party system is effectively separating fellow Americans by discouraging voters, who mostly have similar opinions, the crisis can be averted. If Americans can be convinced that their votes can make a difference, the electoral system will not be a failure. Hopefully, voter participation will increase in future elections, but without any encouragement, the voting population could still lessen.
