The elements of a tragedy by Aristotle.
Aristotle says tragedy must obtain 6 elements and the play must have unity of time, place and action. Those elements are plot, character, diction, thought, spectacle, and song. Over the years there have been tons of great tragedies and if writers were to stop now and never write a tragedy again I think a lot of business would get lost in the process. Tragedies are what hold all the other plays together in the end because so many people love them.
