Although there is not much known about the author or origin of “Beowulf,” much can be said about the use of symbolism and themes in the poem. …showed last 75 words of 656 total…trying to suggest. The author is merely trying to convey the importance of honor, dignity, and pride; not only for oneself, but also for one’s family. Throughout all the centuries that have passed since the creation of Beowulf, almost all countries, although maybe not to the degree of the Spear-Danes, people still feel the pride and dignity in their roots. This could be one of the only characteristics that will be passed down forever.
