The word “Photography” was invented by Sir John Herschel who first used the term in 1839. The word is derived from the Greek words for light and writing.
The first known use of photography was at the beginning of the nineteenth century when Thomas Wedgwood was conducting experiments. He had successfully captured images, but his silhouettes could not last as there was no known method of making the image permanent. The first successful picture was produced

photography to everyone. From the age of 76 onwards, Eastman was becoming increasingly ill. He eventually took his own life and next to his body was a note which read, “To my friends, My work is done-why wait?”
As you can see Photography has a very rich history and can not be credited with really one inventor. Many people helped with perfecting film and cameras over time and many people are still perfecting it.
