Mr. McGinn was born in Hartford, Connecticut, on November 10, 1914. He lived in his family’s home in Hartford until he married, and moved to Windsor Locks where, he lived with his wife’s family. He attended local schools in Hartford and graduated from Hartford High School in 1932. Mr. McGinn said that he enjoyed school and particularly liked History, English, and baseball. that future generations will never hear the story Mr. McGinn told me has burnt itself into me. It makes me realize that another generation must have realized this as their parents generation passed from them. That written history was to serve as a legacy for subsequent generations. The rub is to infect students with this same passion and understanding. The challenge is to have the students gain empathy with these in the past.
