The amount of disrespect that was shown to the Amendment and the various enforcement issues left America looking like an ineffective force. Prohibition ended with an increase of crime, corruption and public health problems. Although much was learned from the disappointments because of Prohibition, it was a chaotic period in America’s history where the government first started their desire for control over the lives of citizens.
