seems extreme but in Socrates opinion it is what the gods planned for him and what they wanted. Socrates does not blame the judges for wanting to kill him because he knows it is the gods doing. He believes that whatever end the gods choose for him is for the best. The gods are unable to create anything evil because they are perfect, which means that evil can never happen to anyone.
