In conclusion, this novel explains the stages of grieving from a young girl’s point of view. Lara could not accept her mother not being there throughout the novel, but then towards the end she finally realizes her mother is gone, and she won’t be coming back. Grieving takes time to overcome. Lara went through a lot, until she accepted her mother’s death, which was very hard to do.
