The excitement I felt about being able to share that book with my father is evidence that parental envelopment programs are beneficial both in encouraging academic success and in encouraging parent child relationships. Although Finn discusses several discrepancies found in the importance of parental involvement and states that "the jury is still out" on the extent of its benefits, I fully support his statement that "there can certainly be no harm in promoting parental involvement" (57).
