I believe that banishment would be a far superior fate when compared to death. With banishment, one would never see one's friends, relatives, or other loved ones ever again, in addition to the obvious consequence of having to start all over again financially (buying a new house, getting a new job, etc.). Although the American court system unfortunately does not give those sentenced to life without parole the option of execution, death could be made likely during apprehension. This would be achieved by forcing the would-be captors to use lethal force. The best choice, however, would be to avoid any of these scenarios whenever possible.
